The Casa de Oro Alliance is a California Public Benefit Nonprofit 501(C)(3) Corporation. It is a coalition of residents, business owners, landlords, faith based groups, law enforcement, school officials and community leaders whose mission is to revitalize Casa de Oro.
HISTORY
Many of our members have lived in Casa de Oro for decades and have watched the gradual deterioration of our neighborhood. In 2015 we came together to reshape the character of our community. The Alliance was formed through efforts from the Institute for Public Strategies (IPS) and the East County Youth Coalition. Both groups as well as local residents and business owners had serious concerns about the excessive number of high–risk businesses in Casa de Oro including liquor stores, smoke shops, illegal marijuana businesses, massage parlors, hookah lounges, and tattoo parlors. We have evolved over time and today our focus is on advancing a comprehensive revitalization plan for Casa de Oro.
VISION
Our vision is to create and maintain a historically rich, culturally diverse, thriving community that is attractive, safe, pedestrian-friendly, and a popular destination for dining, entertainment and shopping.

Sweetwater Authority plans to build a massive floating solar farm on Sweetwater Reservoir and they might be trying to do it without an Environmental Impact Report.
This project could have serious consequences on the environment and the water supply, and it’s up to the community to make sure the proper precautions are taken.
Sweetwater reservoir is one of the locations where fire-fighting helicopters get water for their water drops. It is uncertain how a floating solar farm would affect fire-fighting.
The Sweetwater Authority is holding a special board meeting on:
🗓️ Saturday, December 14th
🕘 9:00 a.m.
📍505 Garrett Ave., Chula Vista, CA 91910
